And now for the Bonus Round!

Image
06-12-21, Saturday The lady from the tour company that took us up into the mountains sent us the photos today!  For those of you who complain that I'm never in any photos, here you go!!  Myra, our guide, is a really good photographer!!

Going Home - Final post

Image
06-07-21, Monday I suppose this should really have started with the end of the last post, but c'est la vie!  The flight from Larnaca to Athens is only about an hour and forty-five minutes and the middle seat in my row is empty. Yay!  And they fed us a literal brown-bag meal!  It was a little ham and cheese sandwich, a chocolate and carob filled biscuit, and a bottle of water.  And when they had collected the trash they brought around other beverages - coffee, orange juice, apple juice! That almost makes up for the lack of organization apparent in the Athens airport!  It's a good thing I've got five hours to figure out where I belong!  The first departure signs don't go far enough into the day and it appears that there are two terminals according to the signs;  but the first man I ask assures me, "No B, no B!!"  Okay, whatever!  Then there's the man checking papers and he doesn't care about my QR code or my test and he points me toward passport control

The Endless Day

06-06-21, Sunday I can't believe it's already our last day!  I have to leave for the airport around 1:30 tomorrow morning, so there's really no point in going to bed.  We go to breakfast earlier than usual and when we come back I start to wrestle with the Greek locator form again.  Ammar suggests that I try it on my phone.  That makes no sense to me, but, wouldn't you know it?  It works! There are some glitches due to a lack of logic on the designer's part and I get some help dealing with those, and pretty soon I get a confirmation email!  I'll get the ever popular QR code at midnight. The recessed lighting in our suite is all this delicious shade of blue. The next fun project is getting everything in our suitcases! That is a little easier than it might have been because Ammar's find at the charity shop is really quite spacious! We're about as organized as we can be at this point, so yay for us! Time to get out of the room and enjoy the great outdoors!

Another beautiful day!

05-06-21, Saturday Another picture-perfect morning!  I'm up early and try to get some of the bookkeeping out of the way for tomorrow night (well, really Monday morning)  I'm able to check into my three flights without much trouble and my boarding passes are on my phone.  I even was able to select my seats, so that's good!  But there's always a hitch, right?  To enter Greece you have to have a locator pass and part of the registration procedure requires you to verify your email by clicking on a URL that they send you.  It takes between five and eight minutes for the email to arrive and by the time it does, the URL has expired and you have to request another one and it takes five to eight minutes...you get the idea.  This took my mind off my aggravation for a while! By the time I slam my laptop shut in frustration, Ammar is awake! He calms me down and we go up to breakfast where I realize that the mushrooms and scrambled eggs here are the best we've had anywhere.  An
